*Know the signs and symptoms of heat related illness-
*When engaging in outdoor activities take frequent breaks in shady areas or indoors
*Apply and re apply sunscreen often, don’t forget the top of the head and ears!
*Wear breathable, lightly colored clothing
*Stay hydrated-avoid drinks with alcohol or caffeine
*Be aware of children and pet safety with regard to hot vehicles. Heat can be deadly very quickly.
*Check on the elderly. They are sensitive to temperature extremes.
