Summer at RiverCourt

July began with a wonderful Independence Day celebration. The kitchen staff did an awesome job as usual. Liz did an amazing job on the grill. And Nikki one of our RA’s did a great job singing the National Anthem. It was so moving that all the residents stood up while she sang.
We had Steve Stains playing patriotic songs on the piano. Some of the residents even took the horns out of the firecracker centerpieces to add to the celebration. We all had a great time.

Brady’s first visit a big success!

brady (5)We all love it when our therapy pets visit. This was Brady’s first time visiting in Reflections. He’s a proud graduate of the Canine Good Citizen Program and was very content to relax in our living room and socialize with the residents.

Come back anytime Brady!

Stars for our Troops!

This is a new monthly activity we have started in Reflections. Stars are cut from retired American Flags then put in a plastic pouch along with a verse that reads “Please carry me as a reminder that you are not Forgotten”. These will be sent to our Troops and Veterans as an ongoing “Community Service Activity”.

Great Day at Earl’s Farm in Groton

Earl's (27)On a recent beautiful May afternoon some of the Reflections residents went on a van ride to Earl’s Farm on Lost Lake in Groton.

He was happy to let us visit with his animals including goats, llamas, a turkey, ducks and rabbits. We were able to feed the animals and hold some baby bunnies that were born this spring.

While visiting we could hear the classical music he plays daily for his animals! What a great afternoon.
